"The reference came from my own experience traveling down Frogtown Road just north of Marshall. OCH hunt met on or near our farm, Chilly Bleak, a couple times per week and so I kept my camera with me when we were on the road doing calls. It always made my hair stand on end to see the hunt pop out. I watched with glittering eyes wondering why I had not spent my entire adult life living in this glorious countryside. I can remember back to my first road view a whip came galloping up to St. Louis road, screeching to view traffic and then carrying on at a gallop. It took my breath away. As a horse person, hunting has not been part of my repertoire. Many experiences are hard to remember with time but for some reason hunting is different. I can look through thousands of photos and clearly remember those days. I remember nearly every moment I did get the chance to hunt on horseback myself. The community comes together in the hunt field with stories to tell for many years. This painting is just one small moment for me to cherish."
