The Byrne Gallery Artist Reception, Hunt Country Impressions
The Byrne Gallery is hosting an artist reception for Gail Guirreri-Maslyk on September 12, 2020 2-6pm. Visit with the artist and her collection of oil paintings in the show 'Hunt Country Impressions' depicting life as we have come to love in hunt country of northern Virginia. Horses are captured galloping, grazing, hacking, driving, hunting to hounds and racing. These moment gestures are powerful and magnetic as the viewer is often noticed by the horse straight out of the canvas, but rarely by the figures. Her theme of purple pigments in this show is a reaction to the current world discomfort, similar to the need for lavendar tea. The eyes soak in the violets from deep, strong, soft or muted under great lighting of The Byrne Gallery. We graciously look forward to seeing you. Light refreshments will be offered.
