Tea with The Artist at Unison Store, November 16, 2024

Gail Guirreri Art

Please join Gail for afternoon tea, live painting and small pop up art show at the old country store in Unison VA on Nov. 16, 2024 from 1-4pm. The fall color has been better than expected this season. There is still some rust, wine and lime green inspiration in the landscape. The constant changing landscape and air color has an impact on Gail's palette mood. I wake up looking at the trees against the sky. This morning it was grey and gloomy. Purple ocher (pr102) anchors the color in a low light day but greenish yellow (PY117) glitters in ones eyes from small branches of leaves left sparsely on the trees. It does not take a large palette to make a dynamic painting. After I have spent my mornings doing barn chores and hand grazing a horse or two, the mood follows me to the studio. If I have a commission with a completely different pallet it can be hard to adjust. Therefor I often have multiple palettes out at once. Gail plans to bring the colors of the day and apply them to any subject she decides to paint Saturday afternoon. She is happy to answer questions or follow suggested tangents as she paints. All are welcome.
