"There are numerous reasons to keep a painting in my collection. The most likely reason is that I like the reminder of how the paint landed on the canvas so easily. To me the real difference between a 'green' artist and a real working artist is fussing with the paint. Many of my collection paintings look unfinished. That is because they were drawings that I chose not to paint over. The drawing stage is very quick for me. If I get distracted and can't finish at my normal pace, I loose the flow of the painting. Each day I see differently and would paint a different canvas. My favorite works were painted in very little time. Next time you are in a museum, study the brush strokes. Spontaneous painting from intuition rather than clinical effort can be seen in most master painters work."
