Portrait paintings by Gail Guirreri-Maslyk

Gail Guirreri-Maslyk has dedicated more of her painting time to portraits over the last year. "The National Sporting Library and Museum in Middleburg, Virginia had an art exhibit of Ellen Emmet Rand. It changed my perspective on portraiture." The exhibit started with her more formal portraits but the entire second floor was of Huntsman (and women). The opening was not long before Gail's own art show at Long Branch Historic Estate in Millwood, Virginia. With so many large walls in such an iconic hunt country mansion it was easy to set the bar high and attempt a modern version of a huntmaster room. "I have always wanted to paint more formal huntsman portraits but had not yet ventured into this subject. The walls of Long Branch gave me the opportunity to follow this direction in my sporting art. I now very much enjoy surprising local hunt members with their portraits." The next art show will be at The Byrne Gallery in Middelburg, Va during September of 2020.
